Is it better to make a Youtube channel or is it ok to just post videos to your site?

Depends, but if you value free hosting, don’t mind a little advertising running against your video viewings, like better SEO and also simple embed code to take your video anywhere Youtube is a great solution. If you host on your site, you need a mediaplayer app and you will have storage cost.
