Real Estate Blogging Best Practices: Topic Targeting
We’ve written on what we consider to be some of the more obvious ‘white hat’ strategies in various channels, but it’s never a bad time to rehash some Real Estate Blogging Best Practices here at Real Estate Blogsites. After all, discipline and having an advantage is never a bad thing
As a priority and because it’s virtually impossible to succeed without one, you’ve simply got to have a plan. With real estate blogging its all about what the focus of your content will be. Obviously, that plan must consider the most important keyword and key phrase topic targets that your business would benefit from having in the search indexes. You see, just blogging won’t do you much good. Blogging in a competitive environment for better visibility is not easy. In an ever evolving and dynamic web environment it requires knowledge. Sure you’ve got to appeal to real estate buyers and sellers when they’re reading you, but a disciplined effort to leverage sound keyword topic targeting will help for them to search and to find you first.
It is well documented that when a search spider crawls posts and/ or pages it looks for keyword or key phrase emphasis. We’ll break the proper usage of your topic targets down a bit more in future posts, but Real Estate Blogging starts with the list. It will do everything to improve odds for better search visibility and so that you reach your [searching] target audience. The best way to get rolling is to sit down and write your list down as an ongoing reference. Cast as wide a net as you feel you can serve and don’t skimp on what is your broad knowledge of important keyword and key phrase target topics.
If you’re having trouble developing your list, these straight forward questions might help:
- Who is my target audience?
- What subjects are they likely to be searching?
- What are their needs?
- What kind of education will help them?
- Are there specialized areas I’m experienced in or that represent my business interests?
- What geographic area[s], towns, neighborhoods, counties do I focus on?
- Are there local activities, events or businesses I could write about to demonstrate knowledge and enthusiasm?
