It requires knowledge of what is & what is not a quality link and you should have a healthy feel for the risks involved when investing your limited time & resources. Approach it with a respect for the fact that Search Engines have an interest in their own business, which is answering search queries accurately. They will always strive to analyze content, including the contents’ link structure, based upon its’ actual value to a consumer.
