Walk Score: A New Real Estate Blog Web Tool/Widget
This web application is useful for Real Estate Agents and Clients who want to see a property's proximity to local amenities
With 80% of home buyers using the Internet to search for property before buying, a number of portals have grown in popularity including Trulia, Zillow and GoogleBase. These portals offer several valuable tools and marketing resources for agents looking to add value for their client listings.
A new tool is ‘Walk Score’, which utilizes GoogleMaps to pinpoint a property’s address and then cross reference it with the location of local amenities within walking distance of that property. The site then gives the property a score [out of 100] with higher number denoting more amenities within walking distance .
This is of great use, especially in the inner city. Agents can use it as another marketing tool for their Real Estate blog or website and prospective clients can gauge how close the school, YMCA, grocery store or gas station is.
