Real Estate Blogging and Search Engine Visibility: Part One

By admin • June 15th, 2006

Real Estate Blogging is about much more than getting search engine visibility.  If you’re only going to blog for the massive increase in traffic rather than the ability to brand, ease of publishing and updating, and opening a portal of interaction with your clients (internal or external), many would argue that you’re wasting your time.

However, since blogging has so many search benefits, they aren’t to be overlooked.  It’s especially good to know the traffic benefits of having a blog when you’re attempting to sell it as a solution internally to other parts of your company.

To understand how powerful blogging is in helping sites get search engine visibility, you have to know how it helps with many of the more easily achieved aspects of attaining search engine visibility.

Hundreds of factors go into good search visibility from a search engine optimization standpoint.  Still, it is worth noting that several of those factors can have more of an influence under certain conditions.  A few of these factors and conditions are as follows:

  • frequent updates to several pages of the site,
  • a constant increase in the number of pages in a site,
  • tightly themed content,
  • organized in a way most favorable to the search engines to digest, and
  • strong document relationship to certain types of keywords.

When these and just a few other factors exist, search engine visibilty is much easier to attain.  Add to this that under these circumstances, local search ranking criteria is easier to meet, and it’s apparent that such a situation would be highly beneficial to the sites of real estate professionals.
